Second Chance

Not everybody will have a second chance. Not everybody will get the same experience. Not everybody is as lucky as we are to get a second chance. Not everybody is willing to receive this offer of a second chance.
Talking about second chances, I might be talking about 2 different examples leading to the same point. My first example I want to share is about my piano test. I have actually had it like a couple of weeks ago and I fail. I missed 4 points to succeed. I think, okay. I will be in the same grade until next time and my mom will have to pay again and she will be mad... And… It’s the worse feeling ever. But guess what? I get a second chance. Next Tuesday will be my day. I will do it again. At first I am doubting myself to do it again because I didn’t have my confidence I should have in that room. Well, I hate to mention that my mom make me change my mind and do it all over again with a new mindset and a bigger confidence. But not any regular person will judge me this time. Guess who? It will be the very owner of the music school! WOW. I think to myself, what am I thinking? I know I will be very nervous but at the same time wanting to do my best in the second chance that have been given.
The second chance, is giving this chance for somebody else. It’s no longer about me, but it’s about us. My best friend and I had been really close since the beginning of my junior high. But for several weeks now, she changed. Not that drastic, but I realized it. I noticed it happening in front of my very own eyes. She seems to draw apart from me. We are no longer as close as the old days, not as close to be called ‘best friend’. I have to admit, we became close because we used to be in the same class 2 years ago and we have been separated. Now, it lies there. A river between us two. However, this second chance I’m talking about is referring to giving a chance to somebody else. In this case, I want to give it to my ‘best friend’.  Even if she didn’t call me her best friend or whatever, I have had really cool memories with her I’ve never experienced in my whole life in having a good friend. You give something you receive. I do not expect anything else than respect if later on she chooses another friend, but as time goes, I want to let her know that in her every move, I will always be her friend. I will always get her back when she needs somebody to support her. When everybody else leaves her, I will be by her side to tell her I am still with her. The key is never be tired of doing good things to people, even if they are not being good to us. I want to be her best friend, no matter what days are coming towards us.
These two examples above lead to the same conclusion. What you sow is what you reap. Everybody deserves a second chance, and that chance comes from our true savior, Jesus Christ. He gives us this brand new life many people are longing for and it’s FREE. HE died on the cross to pay your sin, and give you a second chance to live. He didn’t care about your past; He just wants your heart. If He has given you this second chance today, there is no other reason to not give this chance to another person. Giving what has been given to you.
